Kim Jong Il Remembered in Different Countries

Pyongyang, December 28 (KCNA) -- Remembrance meetings, book and photo exhibitions and film shows took place in Finland, Norway, Denmark, UK, Romania and Bulgaria between December 8 and 17 to commemorate the fifth anniversary of demise of leader Kim Jong Il. Hanging on the front walls of the venues were portraits of smiling President Kim Il Sung and leader Kim Jong Il. On display in the venues were photos showing the exploits of the peerlessly great men of Mt. Paektu and books and photos introducing the efforts of the army and people of the DPRK. Korean films "Kimjongilia" and "Flag of the Workers' Party of Korea" were watched at the film shows. The participants laid bouquets at the portraits of the great leaders and paid high tribute to them. The chairman of the Finnish Communists' League, the chairman of the Finland-Korea Society and the chairman of the Finnish National Committee for the Study of the Juche Idea noted with high appreciation that Kim Jong Il had strengthened the Korean People's Army into an invincible one equipped with nuclear deterrence. The chairman of the Ostfold County Committee of the Communist Party of Norway said the Korean people could tide over all the difficulties and lay a solid foundation for building a powerful socialist country thanks to the guidance of Kim Jong Il. The chairman of the Denmark-DPRK Friendship Association said the demise of Kim Jong Il was a great loss to the Korean people and the world progressives, praising his marked exploits for the times and history. The chairman of the Socialist Party of Romania said the DPRK turned into an invincible power under the leadership of Kim Jong Il. The reporter and speakers at a remembrance meeting in Bulgaria said that the Korean people would surely emerge victorious in the struggle to protect the sovereignty of the country and build a powerful socialist country. Messages to Supreme Leader Kim Jong Un of the DPRK were adopted at the events held in Finland, Norway, Denmark and UK. |
