Great progress has been made in the drive for improving educational contents, creating the advantageous educational methods and generalizing it in the fields of higher education and general education, throughout the country.

More than 110 universities and middle and primary schools put some 640 000 teaching programs on a pragmatic, integrated and modern basis and made more than 750 000 e-teaching programs.

Kim Il Sung University made curriculums on a high level by putting stress on training more academic and practical talents and fundamentally improved educational contents and methods.

At least 8 000 educational methods, including the listening and conversation test method of foreign languages by use of computer, were created. At least 70 teaching methods were generalized.

A big stride has been made in the work for improving the educational condition and environment.

All the classrooms of nearly 10 universities, including Kim Hyong Jik University of Education, turned into multi-functional ones of high grade. The number of the multi-functional classrooms was put at over 23 000.

Universities across the country manufactured more than ten thousand apparatuses for experiment and practice and the factory universities laid material and technical foundations for improving experiment and practice education.

The appearance of more than one hundred senior middle schools provided a sure guarantee for satisfactorily training technical talents.

Emulation for increasing study zeal was dynamically waged among students.

There took place the national software contest of university students, national symposium of different sectors and national exhibition of inventions of university students. The DPRK students won the Codechef Internet program contest and the 40th ICPC (International College Programming Contest).

Printing houses and publishing companies and units producing educational apparatuses produced a lot of educational supplies in time.

In particular, they sent hundreds of thousands of textbooks, reference books, experimental apparatuses and reagents of several thousand kinds to the students of the flood-hit northern parts of North Hamgyong Province.

Successes were also made in realizing the integration of education, scientific research and production.

More than 20 universities, including Kim Il Sung University, developed over 190 latest technical goods and realized their local production, thus making a great contribution to economic construction of the country and the improvement of people's living standard.

This year eloquently showed that the DPRK can demonstrate its might as a country of education, a power of talents in the near future.
