Respected Supreme Leader Kim Jong Un opened up a golden age of the Kimilsungist-Kimjongilist youth movement by successfully carrying forward the idea of President Kim Il Sung and leader Kim Jong Il on attaching importance to the youth.

He saw to it that the 70th anniversary of the Kim Il Sung Socialist Youth League was celebrated with splendor and a congratulatory message of the Central Committee of the Workers' Party of Korea (WPK) was sent.

He visited the newly-built Youth Movement Museum on the occasion of the 70th anniversary of the youth league and stressed the need to hold fast to the idea of attaching importance to the youth as invariable strategic line, having the same noble outlook on the future and the rising generation as the great leaders did.

The 9th Congress of the Kim Il Sung Socialist Youth League was held in the presence of Kim Jong Un. It was a significant grand gathering of the youth which provided a new milestone in making a victorious advance of the Juche-oriented youth movement and strengthening the youth league.

At the congress the youth league with five-million-strong youth ranks was renamed the Kimilsungist-Kimjongilist Youth League.

Cherishing the trust of the Workers' Party of Korea that has put forward them as masters of the youth power, the young Korean people demonstrated spirit and valor of the youth at the worksites of the 70-day campaign and the 200-day campaign.

Members of the Paektusan Hero Youth Shock Brigade built another power station in a less than half a year, thus creating the spirit of the Paektusan hero youth and fully displaying the might of the youth power.

A number of young people volunteered the shock brigades to contribute to finishing the construction of more than a hundred projects.

At least 5 900 young people carried out their three-year and more and two-year national economic plans and more than 80 000 young people overfulfilled their yearly national economic plans.

Through a mass technological innovation movement, young scientists played the core and leading role in occupying the fortress of ultramodern technology, including space and nuclear technologies, and in settling the scientific and technological issues arising in hastening the building of a socialist power and improving the people's standard of living.

And girl footballers won the 2016 FIFA U-17 Women's World Cup and the 2016 FIFA U-20 Women's World Cup.

The number of the young front-rankers in noble traits is increasing. Many young people were awarded the titles of the Kim Il Sung Youth Honor Prize and the Kim Jong Il Youth Honor Prize and many units the titles of the Young Vanguard Model Primary Committee and the Young Vanguard Model Primary Organization.

Upon receiving the crucial statement of the Supreme Command of the Korean People's Army in February this year, more than one million young people volunteered to join or rejoin the Korean People's Army across the country with the faith and will to devotedly defend the Party and the leader and settle accounts with hostile forces.

All the facts prove that the future of the DPRK is bright as there is a huge army of young people dashing ahead like the wind along the orbit of the Korean revolution indicated by the great Party.
