Respected Supreme Leader Kim Jong Un personally initiated the erection of the monument, chose its site and examined its layout, leading the project for truthfully representing their heroic struggle.

He saw to it that the medal of DPRK Hero and his autograph "Monument to Feats of Heroic Youth" were inscribed on its front side. He meticulously guided officials to erect it on the highest level, learned about its project and personally solved all problems arising in it.

True to his noble intention, members of the Paektusan Hero Youth Shock Brigade and officials and workers of the unit concerned successfully erected the monument through their devoted struggle.

Thanks to the erection of the monument another education center has been provided for giving eternal luster to the feats of leader Kim Jong Il and Kim Jong Un who trained the Korean young people into heroes of the times and giants of creation and for showing how the shock brigade members created the new spirit of the times.

Its unveiling ceremony took place on Thursday.
