Kim Jong Il Remembered in Various Countries
Pyongyang, December 31 (KCNA) -- Meetings for remembering leader Kim Jong Il took place in Cambodia, Bangladesh, Myanmar, Mongolia, Indonesia, Pakistan, Belarus, Germany, France, Spain, the Czech Republic, Serbia, Congo, Algeria, Uganda, Angola and Ecuador between Dec. 5 and 17 on the occasion of the fifth anniversary of his demise.

On display at their venues were photos showing the feats of Kim Jong Il and respected Supreme Leader Kim Jong Un and works of the peerlessly great men of Mt. Paektu and books and photos introducing the struggle of the Korean army and people.

Present at the meetings were personages and popular masses from different walks of life in those countries.

Among them were the chairman of the External Relations Committee of the People's Party of Cambodia, the general secretary of the C.C., Workers' Party of Bangladesh, the general secretary of the C.C., Communist Party of Bangladesh (Marxist-Leninist), the secretary of the Yangon Regional Committee of the Union Solidarity and Development Party of Myanmar, the chairman of the Mongolian Committee for Remembering Comrade Kim Jong Il and the secretary general of the Pakistan-Korea Friendship Association.

They said that Kim Jong Il was the great man who performed undying exploits for the happiness of the Korean people and prosperity of the country and the cause of global independence. There are not a few great persons in the world history of politics who made contributions to mankind, but no one could match him, they stressed.

A message and a letter to Kim Jong Un were adopted at the meetings held in Pakistan and Spain.
