Taking part in the action, sponsored by the People's Emergency Action for Resignation of the Park Geun Hye Regime, were more than 1 104 000 people from all walks of life.

Various organizations and people of all social strata in Seoul launched a candlelight action at the Kwanghwamun plaza.

Similar actions took place in Pusan, Kwangju, Jeju, Jinju, Kimhae, Taegu, Ulsan, Inchon, Taejon, Kyongju, Phohang, Chunchon, Jonju and other parts of south Korea.
