According to the results of analysis made by the Health and Wellbeing Committee of the "National Assembly" of the cases of maltreatment of children registered in the Ministry of Health and Welfare on Dec. 27 last year, the number of the children who died due to maltreatment from the outset of 2016 to October of the same year doubled as compared with that in 2014.

Half of the children died from 2014 till August last year because of unbearable violation and some of them were deliberately killed by their parents.

A lawmaker from an opposition party deplored that south Korea is in an era of barbarism.
