Greatly encouraged by his New Year Address, officials in the education sector are turning out as one in the new year's march.

Kim Song Il, department director of the Ministry of General Education of the Education Commission, told KCNA:

We will launch a dynamic drive this year, a year of scientific education, to improve the facilities and environment for this education with bold and scientific operations, effective command and personal examples of our officials.

As the universal 12-year compulsory education is being comprehensively enforced and new kinds of schools emerge, we will put educational facilities and apparatuses for experiment and practice and sports apparatus on a modern basis and turn all classrooms into multi-functional ones in the general secondary education sector.

And we will concentrate our efforts on putting all the courses of teaching and experiment and practice on an IT basis, thus providing a solid foundation to meet the requirements of a socialist civilized power.

Ri Hyon Gwang, vice-president of Kim Il Sung University, said:

All the officials and teaching staff of the university are full of determination to make more scientific education achievements this year.

We will conduct a dynamic drive to improve the educational contents, methods and system and teaching management suited to the character of the most prestigious university in the world.

And we will make necessary educational equipment and scientific research equipment and put them on a modern basis by our own efforts on the great strength of self-reliance and self-development, thus turning the university into an educational center and the highest seat of science and education.
