Kim Su Gil, alternate member of the Political Bureau of the Central Committee of the Workers' Party of Korea (WPK), and chairman of the Pyongyang City Committee of the WPK, in his report stressed that Kim Jong Un's New Year address is precious guidelines and an ever-victorious banner as it encourages all the army and people to give fuller play to their mental power and revolutionary zeal and thus glorify the year 2017 with most significant events in the history of the nation and heroic feats.

Last year was a year of auspicious events and great turn, worthy to be noted in the history of the WPK and the country, the reporter said, adding that the Supreme Leader's deep trust and warm loving care served as a source of greater victory.

He called upon all officials and Party members and all other working people to turn out in an all-out general offensive to attain the goals of the 5-year strategy for national economic development, under the militant slogan "Let us accelerate the victorious advance of socialism with the great spirit of self-reliance and self-development as the dynamic force!"

He stressed that all the people should regard Kim Jong Un's New Year address as a motto of life and struggle and work hard to glorify this year with great victory and hit the high goals for building a powerful socialist country set forth at the 7th WPK Congress as early as possible.

Speeches of pledge were made on behalf of the working class, agricultural workers, youths and intellectuals.

The speakers renewed the resolve to translate the people's ideals and dreams into brilliant reality by devotedly carrying through the highly important tasks set forth in the New Year address.

Then a mass demonstration was held.
