The statement said:

HE Kim Jong Un said in his New Year Address that all the Korean people in the north, the south and abroad should achieve solidarity, make concerted efforts and unite on the principle of subordinating everything to national reunification, the common cause of the nation, and revitalize the reunification movement on a nationwide scale.

We fully support his proposal for Korea's reunification.

The south Korean authorities should not aggravate the situation by finding fault with the DPRK's exercise of the right to self-defence thoughtlessly, but respond positively to the latter's sincere efforts to prevent military conflict between north and south and ease the tension.

The Korean people will smash the challenge and disturbance by forces against reunification at home and abroad and bring a new phase of independent reunification under the guidance of Kim Jong Un.
