Rodong Sinmun Derides Japan's Bid for Permanent Member of UNSC
Pyongyang, January 7 (KCNA) -- Shortly ago, Japanese Prime Minister Abe talked a string of rubbish at a seminar to mark the 60th anniversary of Japan's accession to the UN that the reform of the UN Security Council is a priority task and if Japan becomes a permanent member of the UN, it will creditably fulfill its responsibility.

Commenting on his nonsensical talk, Rodong Sinmun Saturday ridicules Abe's despicable bid to get a permanent membership of the UNSC and get involved in the world politics together with the U.S.

As far as Japan is concerned, it does not have elementary qualifications to hold a responsible post of the UN handling international issues, the commentary notes, and goes on:

Japan has a crime-woven history as it provoked wars of aggression and committed hideous crimes against humanity in the first half of the 20th century. It is the only country in the world which is persistently denying and distorting its past crimes.

Japan is, therefore, mentioned in the article dealing with "enemy state" specified by the UN Charter. It is an "enemy state" as it was hostile to those countries which signed the Charter during World War II.

This legally disqualified and morally vulgar country is eying a responsible post of the world body. It is a mockery of the world people and a challenge to the human conscience.

Once Japan is allowed to get permanent membership of the UNSC, as claimed by Abe, the Asia-Pacific region will turn into shambles of a war.

No matter how desperately Japan may try to look tall, while clinging to the coattail of the U.S., it can never get rid of its plight as a political dwarf.
