The People for Achieving Peace and Reunification conducted an opinion poll among 2 165 persons over the THAAD deployment in the area of Kwanghwamun of Seoul on Dec. 17, 24 and 31 last year.

As a result, 97.3 percent of those polled said the decision on the THAAD deployment has to be withdrawn or the moves to deploy THAAD must be stopped.

87.8 percent of the respondents said the decision on the THAAD deployment must be cancelled as it is good-for-nothing.

The organization said that almost all citizens sympathize with the idea that THAAD deployment does not protect security but threatens peace and security of the Korean peninsula. This is a clear representation of the people's view that Park Geun Hye-sponsored decision on the THAAD deployment must be cancelled without fail, it added.
