The article noted that Korean residents in the U.S. had conducted a dynamic struggle for realizing the country's peace and reunification last year though the north-south relations were put in the worst stalemate.

It expressed conviction that a broader avenue to the independent and peaceful reunification of the country would be opened this year by the efforts for holding a pan-national, grand meeting for reunification and through the promotion of contacts and exchanges among various fields and circles from the north and the south and abroad.

It also expressed belief that Koreans in the U.S. would fulfill their responsibility and role in doing so.
