Scientists, Technicians Make Efforts to Break through Cutting Edge

Pyongyang, January 14 (KCNA) -- In hearty response to the New Year Address of respected Supreme Leader Kim Jong Un, scientists and technicians of the State Academy of Sciences of the DPRK are launching a dynamic drive of breaking through the cutting edge in order to open a shortcut for implementing the five-year strategy for national economic development.

Taking the lead in this drive are the Mechanical Engineering Institute and Institute of IT Science and Technology, which had the honor of being the model units in the 70-day campaign and the 200-day campaigns last year.

The scientists and technicians of the institutes are concentrate their efforts on solving the sci-tech problems arising in modernization and normal production at industrial establishments with the main emphasis on the local production of raw materials, fuel and equipment.

Setting valuable researches conducive to promoting economic development and improving the people's living standard, all institutes under the academy are pushing ahead with researches.
