KCNA Commentary Blasts Japan for Its Shameless Moves to Cover up Its Crimes
Pyongyang, January 16 (KCNA) -- Japan is now pressurizing the south Korean puppet regime to pull down the statue of a girl depicting the sexual slavery for the Imperial Japanese Army standing before its consulate general in Pusan.

Amid much fuss about "countermeasures" made by high-ranking politicians such as the prime minister and the chief cabinet secretary, Japan recalled its ambassador in Seoul and consul general in Pusan, postponed the high-level economic talks and suspended the currency exchange negotiations with south Korea as part of retaliatory steps.

This is nothing but a cynical ploy of the Japanese reactionaries to cover up the hideous crimes committed by Japan against humanity in the past by using the Park Geun Hye group of traitors steeped in sycophancy and submission to the marrow of their bones.

The world community has seen lots of disgraceful behaviors of Japan shunning the settlement of its past crimes for the past several decades since the issue of sexual slavery for the Imperial Japanese Army was raised, but it cannot but be stunned by the on-going gangster-like and brazen-faced acts on the part of Tokyo.

The statues of a girl standing in south Korea including those erected before the Japanese embassy in Seoul and consulate general in Pusan are not simple symbols but the statues bearing witness to the hideous crimes committed by the Japanese imperialists against humanity in the past and an expression of the protest against Japan's persistent refusal to redress its sexual slavery.

As far as the "agreement" on the issue of sexual slavery for the Imperial Japanese Army concluded between south Korea and Japan late in 2015 is concerned, it is no more than a product of a political bargaining made by Japan with the south Korean puppet group in a bid to keep its crime-woven history buried into oblivion through the payment of a petty amount of money to them under the U.S. manipulation.

It was precisely Japan that shouted bravo after fabricating the "agreement." In the "agreement" Japan denied the coercion involved in the sexual slavery by using ambiguous words of "army's involvement" and "sense of responsibility" and refused to admit the state and legal responsibility for it.

After wooing the Park Geun Hye group of sycophants and traitors into cooking up the criminal "agreement," Japan is putting increased pressure upon its lackeys in south Korea to implement it come what may though they are standing impeachment trial.

Japan is clamoring for "final and irreversible settlement" of the issue of sexual slavery, claiming that the "agreement should be implemented despite regime change" and it is taking a wait-and see-approach towards the south Korean puppet forces' future attitude.

This is political hooliganism.

The sexual slavery for the Imperial Japanese Army is a tragedy of history which can never be written off.

No matter how much water may flow under the bridge and no matter how often a generation is replaced by a new one, Japan can never evade its legal and moral obligation to make an honest apology and reparation for its past crimes.

Japan's liquidation of its past crimes such as sexual slavery is not a matter to be settled with a petty amount of money but its vital issue of whether it becomes a normal state trusted by the world community after redressing its crimes committed against the Koreans and other Asian peoples or not.

Japan's sincere settlement of its past crimes is a job to be done for itself as it can never be part of the world community without doing so.

The Korean people and other Asians will certainly force Japan to pay for its crimes generation after generation.
