S. Korean People Honor Memory of Martyr Pak Jong Chol
Pyongyang, January 16 (KCNA) -- People from all walks of life in south Korea on Jan. 14 honored the memory of martyr Pak Jong Chol who was killed by the brutal torture of the fascist dictatorial forces in the past in different parts of south Korea, according to south Korean media.

A memorial service took place in the Moran Park, Kyonggi Province under the sponsorship of the Society for Honoring the Memory of Pak Jong Chol.

It was followed by a memorial meeting that took place in front of the former anti-communist office in Namyong-dong, Seoul where Park breathed his last.

Speakers said that the death of martyr Pak Jong Chol in Jan. 1987 sparked off the struggle for democracy and this resistance reached its climax when Ri Han Ryol was killed by tear-gas in June later.

They called upon all people to make efforts to throw overboard Park Geun Hye, the boss of evil politicians, and achieve democracy.

A similar event took place in Pusan on the same day.
