Successes Made in Increasing Electric-power Production

Pyongyang, January 17 (KCNA) -- The Democratic People's Republic of Korea is directing big efforts to updating thermal and hydro-power plants and putting their production on a normal track. The Pukchang Thermal Power Complex is pushing ahead with the work for creating the new generating capacity while drastically improving the technical capacity of pumps for circulating water by introducing tens of modern measuring equipment. A drive has been conducted at the Pyongyang Thermal Power Complex and the East Pyongyang Thermal Power Plant to apply a new firing technology without heavy oil to boilers. The integrated production system has been rounded off at the hydro-power stations. Meanwhile, the Transformer Substation Management Bureau has repaired more than 100 high-power transformers. |
