Pyongyang, January 18 (KCNA) -- On Jan. 4 the U.S. finished the examination of a plan for building a Colombia-class ballistic missile nuclear submarine to enter its next phase. According to foreign press reports, the first flotilla of nuclear carriers of the U.S. navy headed by nuclear carrier Carl Vinson is sailing to the West Pacific near the South Sea of China and the flotillas of the U.S. nuclear carrier John C. Stennis and Ronald Reagan deployed in South Sea of China and Japan are expected to join it. Commenting on this, Minju Joson Wednesday observes that this muscle flexing of the U.S. is aimed to contain China and Russia by further stepping up its policy for military supremacy in the region and make a decisive breakthrough in carrying out its strategy for world domination. The commentary goes on: The situation in the Asia-Pacific region is inching close to a war and military conflict every moment owing to the U.S. arms buildup aimed at hegemony. This goes to prove that the U.S. is, indeed, the arch criminal escalating tension in the region. The DPRK situated in the Asia-Pacific region and in the biggest hotspot in the world, in particular, cannot remain a passive onlooker to the escalating tension in the region. If a war breaks out in the region, it may spill over into a world war at a moment and have a very baneful impact upon the security of the Korean nation. The DPRK will dynamically advance along the road of bolstering up its self-defense capacity in order to protect the security of the country and nation. |
