This was mentioned in a special press statement published at an inaugural meeting of the preparatory committee for celebrating the birth anniversary of leader Kim Jong Il held by the African Regional Committee of Friendship and Solidarity with the Korean People on January 12.

Noting that the world progressives will soon celebrate the 75th birth anniversary of Kim Jong Il, the eternal leader of the Workers' Party of Korea, the statement said:

All people highly praise HE Kim Jong Il as he was a prominent statesman intensely loyal to the idea and cause of the preceding leader and propelled the victorious advance of socialism with his distinguished leadership ability and laid a solid foundation for building a socialist power in Korea to give the world people confidence that truth would surely win.

The DPRK, a small country in territory and population, has invariably advanced along the road chosen by itself, demonstrating its might as a nuclear power despite the obstructions of the imperialist allied forces. This is the fruition of the wise leadership of HE Kim Jong Il.

The mode of leadership of HE Kim Jong Il, who further cemented single-minded unity and built up the tremendous national strength without any help from others, under the unprecedented military threat and economic blockade by the imperialists, should be embodied in all African countries.

His undying exploits for prosperity of socialist Korea and global independence will be deeply engraved on the hearts of all people.
