Remarks Demanding Withdrawal of Girl Statue Assailed

Pyongyang, January 20 (KCNA) -- The Korean democratic women's union in Japan and the south Korean democratic women's association in Japan made public a joint statement in protest against the reckless remarks made by the chief of the central headquarters of the south Korean Residents Association in Japan as regards a girl statue outside the Japanese consulate general in Pusan of south Korea.

The statement censured the chief as a lackey of the Park Geun Hye regime and the Japanese authorities keen to cover up Japan's state- sponsored unethical crimes.

It stressed that the girl statue can never be withdrawn unless the issue of the sexual slavery is settled in a proper manner.

It strongly demanded that the chief immediately retract his remarks and apologize to the world fair-minded people including the Koreans in Japan and all other Koreans desirous of solution to the issue.
