Basketball, Wrestling Rhythmic Exercises Created in DPRK
Pyongyang, January 21 (KCNA) -- Rhythmic exercises for basketball and wrestling have been created in the DPRK.

O Hye Song, a gymnastics creator of the Korean Mass Gymnastic Production Company, told KCNA:

The rhythmic exercise for basketball to the tune of songs "O My Motherland Full of Hope" and "Higher and Faster" is popular among basketball players, coaches, reserve players and fans.

The rhythmic exercise gives a mental stability to players and helps them raise their technique including rate of dunk shot.

The wrestling rhythmic exercise also wins great popularity among those players.

According to Yun Jong Hui, a teacher of Korea University of Physical Education, it is helpful to improving the physical flexibility and taking a daring act in match.

Han Yong Chol, a composer of the National Folk Art Troupe, said that music for the rhythmic exercises are arranged with cheerful and powerful music by combining advantageous elements of national tune with rhythm of modern music.

The mass rhythmic exercise was created in Juche 82 (1993) and then followed the rhythmic exercises for boys, old persons and football.

The newly-created rhythmic exercises are greatly contributing to further developing the specialized sports technique of the country.
