Hessou Kohovi, chairman of the Benin-Korea Amicable Association "Long Live Kim Jong Il, Supreme Leader" who doubles as chairman of the Benin National Committee for the Study of the Juche Idea, was elected chairman of the preparatory committee.

The preparatory committee decided to organize diverse political and cultural events praising the revolutionary career and exploits of Kim Jong Il on the occasion of his 75th birth anniversary.
