From the beginning of the year, the Ministry of Machine-building Industry and its affiliated industrial establishments have concentrated their efforts on putting machinery on a modern basis and ensuring the domestic production of them.

The ministry has set it as this year's goal to round off processes for the serial production of new-type tractors and vehicles, produce different kinds of high-performance and quality machinery and realize domestic production of equipment and materials.

The Taean Heavy Machine Complex is directing big efforts to developing CNC 9-axis control processing lathe, while the Taean Electric Appliances Factory is pushing ahead with the work to ensure the serial production of energy-saving transformers by putting iron core cutter on a CNC basis.

The Ryongsong Machine Complex is working hard to realize the domestic production of compressor accessories and establish plasma processing process.

The Rakwon Machine Complex is striving to improve the quality of one cubic-meter hydraulic excavator.
