Funeral of Kang Ki Sop Held

Pyongyang, January 25 (KCNA) -- A funeral of Kang Ki Sop, alternate member of the Central Committee of the Workers' Party of Korea, deputy to the Supreme People's Assembly of the DPRK and general director of the General Administration of Civil Aviation , took place here on Tuesday. Present there were Vice Marshal of the Korean People's Army Hwang Pyong So, member of the Presidium of the Political Bureau of the Central Committee of the Workers' Party of Korea, vice-chairman of the State Affairs Commission of the DPRK and director of the General Political Bureau of the KPA, officials concerned and family members of the deceased. The participants and bereaved family members observed a moment's silence in memory of the deceased before his coffin was carried out of the Sojang Club. The hearse left for the Patriotic Martyrs Cemetery in Sinmi-ri. A ceremony of bidding last farewell to the deceased took place at the cemetery. Hwang Pyong So said in an eulogy that Kang Ki Sop who grew up to be a competent pilot under the care of President Kim Il Sung and leader Kim Jong Il made a positive contribution to developing the country's air transport and rendered great service to successfully building the terminal of Pyongyang International Airport, upholding with loyalty the leadership of respected Supreme Leader Kim Jong Un who is making a fresh history of the Juche-oriented civil aviation. He noted that Kang Ki Sop would be always among the Songun revolutionary ranks dynamically advancing under the leadership of Kim Jong Un, adding that we would certainly build a reunified socialist power, his desire, on this land. The remains of the deceased were buried in his grave. Placed before the grave was a wreath sent by Kim Jong Un. Also laid were wreaths in the names of the party and power organs, the General Administration of Civil Aviation and other units. The participants observed a moment's silence in memory of the deceased. |
