Jo Il Yon, chairman of the Tokyo Metropolitan Headquarters of Chongryon, ardently supported the appeal of the joint conference to carry through the task of the country's reunification set forth by respected Supreme Leader Kim Jong Un in his New Year Address and thus glorify this year as a significant year to open up a new phase of independent reunification.

Jong Song Han, chairman of the Hokkaido Metropolitan Headquarters of Chongryon, said that the call of the joint conference to open up a new phase of independent reunification reflected all Koreans' will to reunify the country and encouraged the Koreans in Japan to the grand nation-wide advance for reunification.

So Chun Won, chairman of the Aichi Prefectural Headquarters of Chongryon, noted that when the July 4 joint statement and the October 4 declaration, provided by President Kim Il Sung and leader Kim Jong Il, were made public, the Koreans in Japan shouted hurrah with deep emotion together with the people in the homeland. He expressed his will to arouse all officials of the headquarters and compatriots to the prefecture to the nationwide reunification movement with high sense of national dignity.
