The Maritime Territorial branch of the All-Russia Women's Council "Hope of Russia" said in a solidarity statement on Jan. 16 that in his New Year Address Kim Jong Un called for glorifying 2017 as a very meaningful year in which a fresh phase of independent reunification will be ushered.

The statement went on:

His idea of national reunification is the brilliant continuance of the ideas of reunification advanced by President Kim Il Sung and leader Kim Jong Il.

Kim Jong Un stressed that the international community should oppose the moves of the United States and its vassal forces aimed at wrecking peace on the Korean peninsula and checking its reunification, and the neighboring countries should do things helpful to the Korean nation's aspiration and efforts for reunification.

His idea of independent reunification evoked live support and approval from the progressives and brought a hope of reunification to the Korean people who have suffered a tragic national division for over 70 years.

Wahid Al Uksouri, chairman of the Arab Socialist Party of Egypt, said in a statement on Jan. 12 that Kim Jong Un's New Year Address reviewed the proud successes made by the Korean people last year and set forth militant tasks for the new year.

The U.S. must roll back its anachronistic policy hostile towards the DPRK, well aware of the will of the Korean nation to reunify their country, the statement stressed.
