Kim Il Sung's Exploits for Agricultural Development in African Countries
Pyongyang, January 27 (KCNA) -- A celebration took place in Guinea on January 13 to mark the 35th founding anniversary of the Kim Il Sung Institute of Agricultural Science in Guinea.

At the event, the participants recollected with deep emotion the exploits President Kim Il Sung performed for the agricultural development in Guinea.

The President paid deep attention to the agricultural development in African countries. The agriculture of African countries was very poor, due to the protracted colonial rule of imperialists.

It was in August Juche 70 (1981) that the "Symposium of the Non-aligned and Other Developing Countries on Increasing Food and Agricultural Production" held in Pyongyang and the President met delegations attending it and organized a consultative meeting for agricultural development in their countries.

At the meeting, he suggested establishing an agricultural research center in Tanzania for East African countries and the other in Guinea for West African countries and setting up experimental farms in other African countries with no agricultural research center.

He also sent agriculturists to African countries and indicated the ways to solve problems of seed, fertilizer and farm machines and train agronomists.

Later, he showed the directions of agricultural development for African country when opportunity avails itself.
