Javid Ahmad, director of the Administrative Department of the Kuwait Times and chairman of the Kuwaiti preparatory committee for the Gathering 2017-Praise to the Great Persons of Mt Paektu, was elected chairman of the preparatory committee.

The committee decided to set a celebration period from Jan. 19 to Feb. 18 and give wide publicity to Kim Jong Il's revolutionary career and exploits and organize such political and cultural events as meeting, seminar and film show in the period.
