Day of Sun, Day of Shining Star to Be Marked in Russia

Pyongyang, February 1 (KCNA) -- A Partizansk city, Maritime Territory of Russia, preparatory committee for celebrating the Day of the Sun and the Day of the Shining Star, the birth anniversaries of President Kim Il Sung and leader Kim Jong Il, was formed on January 23.

Khmelyov, first secretary of the Partizansk City Committee of the Communist Party of the Russian Federation who is member of the Legislative Assembly of Maritime Territory of Russia, was elected chairman of the preparatory committee.

The committee set the days from January 23 to April 15 as a celebration period and decided to organize political and cultural events praising the revolutionary careers and exploits of the peerlessly great men of Mt Paektu in the period.
