S. Koreans Stage Action against THAAD Deployment

Pyongyang, February 1 (KCNA) -- Inhabitants in Songju County, North Kyongsang Province of south Korea held a candlelight rally against THAAD deployment outside the county office on Jan. 28, according to the south Korean Internet newspaper Tongil News.

At the rally, speakers recalled that 200 days have passed since the candlelight action was staged in protest against the choice of Songju as the site for THAAD deployment and there have taken place candlelight actions every day.

The THAAD deployment in south Korea is designed to deteriorate the inter-Korean relations and bring benefits to the U.S. only, they held.

Such war weapons as THAAD should be removed and peace achieved, they said, calling for sustained struggle.
