School Youth and Children Start Study Tour of Kim Jong Il's Birthplace
Hyesan, February 1 (KCNA) -- School youth and children from across the country began their study tour of leader Kim Jong Il's birthplace in the secret camp in Mt Paektu on the occasion of his 75th birth anniversary.

A kick-off ceremony took place before the statues of President Kim Il Sung and leader Kim Jong Il in Hyesan City, Ryanggang Province on Wednesday.

The participants in the study tour laid a floral basket and bouquets at the statues of the great leaders.

A report and speeches were made at the event.

They called on the study tour makers to deeply grasp the revolutionary history and feats of the peerlessly great men recorded in the revolutionary battle sites and revolutionary sites in the area of Mt Paektu.

They declared that the study tour would mark an important occasion in preparing themselves to be persons of idea and faith who are ready to defend respected Supreme Leader Kim Jong Un politically and ideologically and at the cost of their lives.

They stressed the need to study hard under the slogan "Studying is also a battle!" and do good things and briskly conduct mass-based culture and art activities.

After the ceremony, the study tour makers marched for Pochonbo.

People from all walks of life and school youth and children in Hyesan City warmly saw them off.
