Authorities' Distortion of History Denounced in S. Korea

Pyongyang, February 3 (KCNA) -- The Council for the Solution of the Issue of the Volunteers Corps, the Students Joint Action for Japan's Apology and Reparation for Sexual Slavery and Repeal of Traitorous south Korea-Japan Agreement and other organizations and citizens in south Korea held a Wednesday rally outside the Japanese embassy in Seoul on Feb. 1 to protest against the south Korean authorities' distortion of history. Speakers at the rally charged that the "government" distorted the history of Japan's invasion in the past by releasing the final copy of "state-compiled history textbook" on Jan. 31. They said they cannot repress resentment at the regime's attitude of keeping mum about Japan's demand for removing the statue of girl. Noting that they cannot recognize the textbook beautifying sycophancy toward Japan and covering up the crimes of the past dictatorial regime, they called for setting the history right by the strength of the people. |
