Koreans in Russia Celebrate Lunar New Year's Day

Pyongyang, February 4 (KCNA) -- Korean organizations in Russia such as the United Confederation of Koreans in the Maritime Territorial Region and the Korean Autonomous Society for National Culture in the Maritime Territorial Region had celebration meetings in Artyom, Ussuriysk, Nakhodka and Partizansk cities between Jan. 27 and 29 to mark the Lunar New Year's Day.

Present there were chiefs of the Korean organizations and other compatriots of various circles in the Maritime Territory.

Invited were staff members of the diplomatic missions of the DPRK and various countries, delegate from the Russian Foreign Ministry and personages of the Maritime Territory administration and legislative assembly.

At the meetings speakers referred to the fact that respected Supreme Leader Kim Jong Un in his New Year Address set forth tasks for paving a broad avenue to independent reunification by the concerted efforts of all Koreans in the north and the south and abroad this year which marks the 45th anniversary of the July 4 joint statement and the 10th anniversary of the October 4 declaration.

Art performances were given there.
