The war drill that lasted for over ten days from Jan. 23 was waged under the simulation of an actual war. It involved more than 30 airplanes with different missions like fighters, helicopters, early warning planes and air-refueling tanker and more than 250 troops of the U.S. air force and over 10 fighters and copters and at least 130 troops of the south Korean puppet air force.

Meanwhile, military bosses of south Korea including the defence minister and the chief of the air force staff inspected army units on the occasion of the lunar New Year's Day, inciting extreme consciousness of confrontation while talking about "nuclear and missile threats from the north" and "full combat posture".

Commenting on the facts, Rodong Sinmun Sunday charges that the south Korean puppet forces are using even folk holiday as an occasion of fanning up the confrontation atmosphere while staging DPRK-targeted war exercises together with the U.S. imperialist aggression forces. This is a despicable act of die-hard warmongers keen on doing harm to the fellow countrymen and of gangsters who pay no heed to the folk holidays.

The war exercises are an extremely provocative rehearsal aimed at preemptive air strike at the depth of the DPRK in case of emergency, the commentary notes, and goes on:

To traitors who go helter-skelter to do harm to the fellow countrymen, bereft of reason, in collusion with outsiders, folk holidays only serve as an occasion of inciting confrontation with the fellow countrymen.

The Korean nation can never live in peace as long as the group of traitors finding a way-out in cooperation with outsiders and in provocative moves for aggression on the north, indifferent to the destiny of the nation, goes with impunity.

The DPRK will never tolerate the south Korean puppet forces getting hell-bent on the moves to provoke a war in league with outsiders against the trend of the times for the improved north-south relations.
