Statement of Int'l Preparatory Committee for "Gathering 2017-Praise to Great Persons of Mt Paektu" Hailed in Japan, Brazil
Pyongyang, February 6 (KCNA) -- Japanese and Brazilian bodies issued statements on Jan. 20 and 29 in support of an official statement issued by the International Preparatory Committee for "Gathering 2017-Praise to Great Persons of Mt Paektu".

The Japanese preparatory committee for celebrating the 105th birth anniversary of President Kim Il Sung and the 75th birth anniversary of leader Kim Jong Il said in a statement:

We will launch positive activities for improving the relations between Japan and the DPRK, bearing in mind the exploits the great persons of Mt Paektu performed for global independence, peace and stability in Northeast Asia and the cause of Korea's independent and peaceful reunification.

We will hold diverse events including the Japan-DPRK friendship meeting for celebrating the birth anniversaries of the great leaders across Japan and inform the Japanese of the Korean people's struggle for fulfilling the five-year strategy for national economic development by dint of single-hearted unity and self-reliance and self-development under the guidance of respected HE Kim Jong Un.

We also will contribute to the successful holding of the 5th International Festival in Praise of the Great Persons of Mt Paektu and the erection of the Monument to the Great Persons of Mt Paektu and join hands with the friendship and solidarity organizations with the Korean people across the world.

The Brazilian Branch of the Korean Friendship Association praised the Songun revolutionary exploits of Kim Jong Il.

It said that today Kim Jong Un's leadership has made us feel the same greatness of a commander of Paektu identical to that of Kim Jong Il.

It noted that Kim Jong Un is creditably carrying forward the ideology and cause of Kim Il Sung and Kim Jong Il to further develop the DPRK.

It extended full support and solidarity to the Korean people under his outstanding guidance.
