At the conference speakers referred to the fact that that day the Lotte Group held a directors' meeting to formally discuss the issue of offering Songju Golf Course as the site for the deployment of THAAD.

They said that there is doubt as to whether the "government" did not pressure the group to make a fait accompli the deployment of THAAD timed to coincide with the U.S. defense secretary's south Korean junket.

They stressed that the group's offering of the site will be considered as bribery.

On the same day the Action for Checking THAAD Deployment and other organizations of south Korea issued a joint statement in protest of the deployment of THAAD.
