The Osaka District Court of Japan on Jan. 26 justified a step taken by the local administrative authorities which excluded Osaka Korean School from the list of subsidies for education, and passed an absurd decision of declining the just demand raised by the school side.

Clear is the aim sought by the Japanese reactionaries in stretching their dark tentacles even to the inviolable national education, not content with their sanctions moves against the DPRK and the General Association of Korean Residents in Japan (Chongryon) pursuant to the U.S. hostile policy toward the DPRK, the statement said, and went on:

The aim is to check subsidies to the Korean schools, put financial burden and, furthermore, mental stress on parents of Korean children and thus get them away from the fold of the DPRK and Chongryon.

The Japanese authorities are legally and morally obliged to provide the Koreans in Japan with the right to national education in the light of the crimes Japan committed against the Korean people in the past and in the light of the Japanese law.

The recent decision made by the Osaka District Court is an unethical crime against humanitarianism, quite contrary to the international convention on human rights on ensuring foreigners equal right to education.

The Japanese reactionaries' persistent moves to deprive Koreans in Japan of their right to national education remind one of the cursed crimes committed by the Japanese imperialists in the past who went desperate to deprive Koreans of their written and spoken language and even names, out of their ambition to exterminate the Korean nation.

The Japanese reactionaries consider Chongryon as a thorn in their flesh, and even seek to prevent Koreans in Japan from receiving inviolable national education. These despicable moves only harden the hatred of Koreans toward Japan, sworn enemy, and the will to take merciless retaliation.

The Japanese reactionaries have to immediately stop unwarranted discrimination against national education of Koreans in Japan and will be made to hold full responsibility for ensuing consequences.
