Pyongyang, February 7 (KCNA) -- The artillery is a main striking force of the Korean People's Army (KPA).

Thanks to the outstanding leadership of the peerlessly great persons, the artillery could be developed into a powerful militant rank of the revolutionary armed forces.

After country's liberation from Japan's colonial rule on August 15, 1945, President Kim Il Sung laid a foundation for building an artillery force, established an integral system of training artillery commanding officers and personally took measures to set up an artillery training center in December, 1945.
