The joint committee chaired by Mojgovoy, first secretary of the C.C., Communist Party of the Soviet Union and chairman of the International Social Federation "for the Union and Union's Communist Party", is composed of representatives of the Communist Workers Party of Russia, the Communist Party of Kyrgyzstan, the Communist Workers' Party of Belarus, the Russian Association for Friendship and Cultural Cooperation with the DPRK and other parties and organizations.

The committee decided to hold political and cultural events praising the revolutionary career and exploits of Kim Jong Il on the occasion of the Day of the Shining Star, his birth anniversary.
