Minju Joson Slams Japanese Reactionaries' Assertion about Tok Islets
Pyongyang, February 8 (KCNA) -- Shortly ago, the foreign minister of Japan in the new year diplomatic speech at the Diet again made reckless remarks that Tok islets belong to "territory of Japan".

Earlier, when referring to the issue of south Korea's erecting a girl statue, symbol of sexual slavery for the Imperial Japanese Army, in Tok islets he let out a flurry of diatribe that "Takeshima (Tok islets) is part of the inviolable territory of Japan and therefore, Seoul's claim is unacceptable from this stand."

Minju Joson Wednesday in a commentary terms the Japanese reactionaries' assertions about Tok islets a blatant challenge and violation of the sovereignty and dignity of the Korean nation.

It is indisputable that Tok islets are part of inviolable territory of Korea in the light of historical facts and from the geographical point of view and from the viewpoint of international law, the commentary says, adding:

From the ethic and moral viewpoint, Japan should kneel down before the Korean nation and make honest apology and reparation for the crimes it committed in the past.

It is the cunning calculation of the Japanese reactionaries to evade the responsibility to redress their past crimes by creating complexity over the issue of Tok islets and glossing over it.

A particular mention should be made of the fact that Japan seeks to serve double purposes to find a pretext of staging a comeback to Korea in contingency by deliberately sparking a territorial dispute.

The Japanese reactionaries' claim to Tok islets can never come true as it is not worth consideration.

They would be well advised to clearly understand the Korean people's will to defend Tok islets and drop their daydream.
