Rodong Sinmun Thursday says in a commentary in this regard:

This is a vivid expression of national chauvinism peculiar to Japan and a part of its persistent hostile policy toward the DPRK.

It is also an illegal fascist action of trampling down the right of Koreans in Japan to national education and a mean and puerile behavior of the ruffians who are steeped in inveterate repugnancy and hostility toward the DPRK and the General Association of Korean Residents in Japan (Chongryon) to the marrow of their bones.

It is the cunning intention of the Japanese reactionaries to force Koreans in Japan to shoulder the heavy financial burden and suffer psychological stress and finally tear them from the fold of the DPRK and Chongryon.

The Japanese authorities have the legal and moral obligation to respect the right of the Koreans in Japan to national education and guarantee it in the light of the crimes committed by the Japanese imperialists in the past and from the viewpoint of education.

The commentary urges the Japanese authorities to deal prudently and fairly with the issue of subsidies to Korean schools in Japan.
