Abrogation of SOFA Urged
Pyongyang, February 9 (KCNA) -- A spokesman for the North Side Headquarters of the Nationwide Special Committee for Probing the Truth behind the GIs' Crimes issued a statement Thursday, 50 years since south Korea-U.S. "Status of Forces Agreement" (SOFA) was effectuated after it was signed by traitor Park Chung-hee, a hideous "yusin" dictator, with the U.S.

The Park military fascist clique committed such hideous pro-U.S. deed of officially putting into effect the SOFA on Feb. 9, 1967, which it signed with the U.S. in July 1966 despite unanimous rejection and denunciation by the south Koreans, the statement said, and went on:

The SOFA is an unprecedented traitorous agreement and a modern-day slave document of brigandish nature.

The effectuation of this shackling agreement granted the U.S. imperialist aggression forces unlimited privileges in south Korea to make them lord it over it as an extraterritorial de factor ruler, thereby bringing intolerable misfortune, pain, disaster and shame to the people.

However, the group of traitors offer stupendous amount of fund, collected as taxes, to the U.S., begging for its permanent military in south Korea and work hard to deploy THAAD for aggression within this year.

What is more infuriating is that the U.S. is these days pressing the south Korean puppet forces to sign a "multi-party agreement on status of stationary troops" with nine countries under the "UN Forces Command".

The "multi-party agreement on status of stationary troops", a revised version of the SOFA, will make south Koreans suffer bitterer pain under the blood-stained military boots of multi-national forces, to say nothing of GIs, and it is as clear as noonday that south Korea will turn into a den of world-level crimes and plunder.

The U.S., root cause of all misfortune and pain of the south Koreans, is the chief culprit of aggression and crime and sworn enemy of the Korean nation as it tries to turn south Korea into the world's biggest arsenal for a nuclear war and a theatre of international crimes, swayed over not only by the GIs but also by multi-national forces.

The south Koreans' misfortune and pain will grow bitterer as long as the U.S. domination and military presence continue and the group of pro-American traitors is allowed to go scot-free, depending on outsiders with no heed paid to the nation's dignity, interests, existence and security.

The people from all walks of life in south Korea should courageously turn out in the action to immediately scrap SOFA and all other shackling agreements and treaties, drive the U.S. imperialist aggression forces from south Korea and throw overboard the group of pro-U.S. traitors.
