Light Industrial Factories Revitalized in North Hamgyong Province

Pyongyang, February 9 (KCNA) -- Respected Supreme Leader Kim Jong Un said in his New Year Address that light industry should work out proper management strategies so as to revitalize production and bring about a turn in diversifying the range and types of consumer goods and improving their quality.

In hearty response to his call, North Hamgyong Province in the DPRK is directing big efforts to revitalizing light industrial factories.

The Provincial People's Committee modernized the Orang Paper Factory as a model and, on this basis, encourages production at other factories in counties and cities.

The modernization for increased production draws to a close at the Kyongsong Ceramic Factory.

The Musan Foodstuff Factory has introduced technical innovations to upgrade and diversify its products.

In particular, the Susongchon General Foodstuff Factory put the candy production process on an automated and streamlined basis by its own efforts.

Successes have also been witnessed at the Chongjin Footwear Factory, Chongjin Bag Factory, Hoeryong Shoes Factory and other factories.

Meanwhile, due measures have been taken to modernize local industrial factories and supply raw materials to them on a regular basis.
