The competition was divided into the panels of the public service, external service and service of ministries and national institutions, public catering establishments in Pyongyang and every province (municipality). It brought together more than 300 cooks and waitresses of 60 units.

It took place in such ways that each unit displayed its dishes and drinks which were made in the defined time and presented to the examination.

Its participants fully displayed their cooking techniques trained in the service activities.
