The January 21st issue of the Cambodian newspaper Nokor Thom Daily devoted a whole page to an article titled "Eternal leader of the Korean people" with a portrait of smiling Kim Jong Il.

It said that the ideas and lines set forth by him serve as a eternal banner indicating the path ahead of the Korean people.

It went on:

Leader Kim Jong Il developed and enriched the Juche idea and the Songun idea, glorifying them as the eternal guiding ideas for carrying out the cause of independence.

He also enunciated ideas and theories of developing the DPRK into a socialist state centred on the popular masses.

It is the greatest exploit performed by him that he firmly defended Korean socialism.

The January 17th issue of the Pakistani newspaper Election Times carried an article titled "Immortal exploits performed by Comrade Kim Jong Il for peace".

It said:

Leader Kim Jong Il, bearing in mind the immutable truth in his early years that neither the security of the country and nation nor peace can be protected if military muscle is weak, started his Songun revolutionary leadership by inspecting a guards unit of the Korean People's Army on August 25, 1960.

He led the DPRK-U.S. confrontation to a victory, holding higher the banner of Songun.

He defended peace and security of the world by frustrating the imperialists' moves for aggression and their high-handed and arbitrary practices with his unique Songun politics. These exploits will always go down in history.
