Korean People Mark January 15th of Lunar Calendar
Pyongyang, February 11 (KCNA) -- The Korean people marked the January 15th of the lunar calendar, a folk holiday, with splendor.

Folklore games of working people of all strata, school youth and children and children in Pyongyang and other parts of the country were held.

Schoolchildren played colorful games including singing and dancing with a unity pole, rope-skipping, shuttlecock game, top spinning and kite-flying at Kim Il Sung Square and plazas of the Arch of Triumph, the Pyongyang Indoor Stadium, etc. in Pyongyang

Families and their neighbors enjoyed the holiday, eating various traditional national food including boiled rice admixed with four other staple cereals and dishes made of nine kinds of dried herbs.

Catering facilities including Okryu Restaurant and Chongryu Restaurant in Pyongyang, restaurants in the folk street of Sariwon City, Sinhung Restaurant in Hamhung City and Okgye Restaurant in Haeju City were crowded with visitors who came to eat Pyongyang Cold Noodle and sweet rice dish.

When a full moon appeared at night, people gathered to feast their eyes on it at Moran Hill, banks of the Taedong River, Changjon Street, Mirae Scientists Street in Pyongyang and scenic spots across the country and new socialist streets and villages in northern part of the country.
