15th All-People Action Launched in S. Korea

| Pyongyang, February 13 (KCNA) -- The 15th all-people action was launched across south Korea on Feb. 11 under the sponsorship of the emergency people's action for the resignation of the Park Geun Hye regime, according to local media reports. More than 806 000 people from all walks of life took to the streets. In Seoul, lawmakers from opposition parties and citizens held a rally at Kwanghwamun Plaza, urging the prompt resignation of Park Geun Hye and Hwang Kyo An. At least 750 000 Seoul citizens staged a candlelight rally at the plaza. At the rally the emergency people's action declared an emergency situation for greeting spring without Park in February and called upon the people across south Korea to gather at Kwanghwamun Plaza on February 25. At the end of the candlelight rally its participants conducted demonstration march twice. At least 15 600 riot policemen belonging to 196 companies were mobilized to dampen the rally. The demonstrators marched toward Chongwadae, shouting slogans demanding immediate resignation of Park Geun Hye and Hwang Kyo An. Similar rallies took place in Pusan, Kwangju, Taejon, Jeju Island, Chunchon, Kangrung, Wonju, Taegu, Ulsan, Sejong and other parts of south Korea. |
