The development of the WPK into the guiding force would have been unthinkable without his leadership.

His august name will shine forever along with the history of the WPK which has demonstrated only victory.

Paying high tribute to Kim Jong Il who had made undying contributions to the human cause of independence, Tin Tun, director of the Myanmar Medical Research Institute and chairman of the Myanmar Preparatory Committee for the Gathering 2017-Praise to the Great Persons of Mt Paektu, said:

Kim Jong Il developed in depth the Juche idea and thus gave the powerful ideo-theoretical weapon to the world progressives struggling for independence.

He resolutely smashed the high-handed and arbitrary practices of the U.S. and other imperialists with the treasured sword of Songun.
