Present there were Ho Jong Man, chairman of the Central Standing Committee of the General Association of Korean Residents in Japan (Chongryon), Kang Chu Ryon, vice-chairwoman of the above-said committee and chairwoman of the Central Standing Committee of the Korean Democratic Women's Union in Japan and Han Tong Song, director of the Organizational Bureau of Chongryon, and chairwomen of the women' union headquarters in different parts.

Ho Jong Man said in his speech that the Korean Democratic Women's Union in Japan is a mass organization that has remained loyal to the leader through generations and registered the history of loving the country and nation for many years.

He stressed the need for the chairwomen of the headquarters to thoroughly apply the idea and intention contained in respected Supreme Leader Kim Jong Un's New Year Address to the work of the union.

Kang Chu Ryon said in her report that this year is of weighty significance as it marks the 70th anniversary of the Korean Democratic Women's Union in Japan and, accordingly, a vigorous innovation movement should be launched to glorify the whole year with signal achievements in the union's work.

She stressed the importance to consolidate the union into a strong organization and intensify the education of children and the work to preserve and develop the national education, make progress in the work for information, education and national culture and turn out in a drive for carrying out the three-point patriotic task.
