On display at the venue of the event were photos dealing with the exploits of Kim Jong Il and respected Supreme Leader Kim Jong Un and works of the peerlessly great men of Mt Paektu and other photos, books, stamps and handicrafts introducing the DPRK.

Present at the event were personages of the Russian Foreign Ministry, the Communist Party of the Russian Federation, the Communist Party of the Soviet Union, the Institute of Oriental Studies of the Russian Academy of Sciences, the Moscow Peace Fund, the Russian Association for Friendship and Cultural Cooperation with the DPRK, the Russian Group for Solidarity with the DPRK and the United Confederation of Koreans in Russia and the DPRK ambassador to Russia and his embassy officials.

V. A. Petrov, chairman of the Russian Association for Friendship and Cultural Cooperation with the DPRK, said:

I am pleased to splendidly hold a celebration meeting and the Korean photo, book, stamp and handicraft exhibition on the significant Day of the Shining Star.

The great Comrade Kim Jong Il brought warm spring not only to the Korean people but also to the progressives of the world.

To believe in the people as in Heaven was his motto all his life.

His dedications to the people and exploits will always be remembered.

A congratulatory message to Kim Jong Un was adopted at the event.
